Marketing targets and business strategy

List the products or services you intend to promote, the landing pages our campaigns should target, the actions you want visitors to take on these pages, keywords you're currently ranking for or aspire to rank for, your best- selling products or services, your current marketing strategy, the marketing channels you're currently using, and the Key Performance Indicators you use.

Example: We want to promote our new line of eco- friendly shoes, which is our best-seller. Our primary marketing channels are social media and email marketing, with Instagram driving most of our traffic.

Competitor Analyis

Identify your main competitors and explain how you differentiate yourself from these competitors.

Example: Our primary competitors are Brand X and Brand Y. Unlike them, we use ethically sourced materials in our products.

Target Audience

Describe your target audience, their demographic and psychographic profiles, and their geographical location.

Example: Our target audience consists of women aged 25-45, interested in sustainable fashion, primarily based in the U.S.

Seasonality

Discuss whether your business experiences seasonal fluctuations or if the demand is consistent throughout the year.

Current Digital Marketing

State if you have undertaken Search Engine Marketing efforts in the past, if you have an internal or external individual/team responsible for content creation, and if you maintain a content calendar and a media plan.

Example: We have undertaken SEO and PPC efforts in the past. Currently, we use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and email for marketing. We publish blog posts and videos weekly and send out bi-weekly newsletters. Our marketing team manages these activities, and we maintain a content calendar and media plan. Our most successful campaign was our Earth Day promotion on Instagram. We are using Salesforce as our CRM system. We track customer interactions through phone calls, emails, and online chat across all our digital platforms. We collect data on customer purchasing habits, preferences, and feedback, which informs our marketing strategy.

Performance metrics and budget

Specify your current marketing budget, if you track performance metrics such as Lifetime Value (LTV), Cost per Acquisition (CPA), or Return on Advertising Spend (ROAS), the average number of leads that convert to a sale, the turnover and profit margin per sale, the average number of sales a client makes per year, the typical client retention period, and the average number of new clients a current customer refers.

Example: Our current marketing budget is $10,000 per month. We track LTV and CPA as our primary performance metrics. Typically, 10% of our leads convert to a sale. The turnover per sale is $200, and the profit margin is about 30%. An average client makes around three purchases per year. Clients generally stay with our company for about five years, and on average, a current customer refers two new clients.
